Volunteer

Two Tunnels is looking to create an extensive volunteer program throughout New York City to speed up a pet’s recovery.

How It Works

We aim to provide help by way of volunteers to as many neighborhoods as possible. Believe it or not, 80% of the reason pets get home is due to effective poster coverage. Out of the cases I have worked, I found that 66% of the pets that came home were due to good poster coverage, and 88% of those cases contacted me within the first 48 hours of their pet going missing.

Physical Posters = Sightings

Due to the city’s restrictions on the use of thermal drones and zero access to the thousands of surveillance cameras that occupy the streets, the community is limited when it comes to getting ahead of the cat or dog who is on the run. Getting the posters out fast and far is how we can generate calls coming in. Two Tunnels would rely on our volunteers to help with hanging posters, transportation, taking posters down, checking shelters, monitoring websites for sightings, and being a positive force for the devastated owners. We don’t need you to do all of that, just one.

No matter how much time you are willing to commit, no amount of help is too small.
