Appi is a lost dog recovery platform built for animal rescue organizations, fosters, and pet owners. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information submitted through our platform and website.

Information We Collect

When someone submits a sighting report through an Appi recovery case link, we may collect:

  • Name, phone number, and email address (all optional)

  • A description of what was observed and where

  • Photos uploaded by the reporter

This information is submitted voluntarily and is used solely to assist in the recovery of a missing dog.

SMS Messaging Program

If you provide a phone number when submitting a sighting report and consent to SMS updates, you may receive SMS text messages from Appi and the rescue organization managing that recovery case. Messages may include: sighting confirmations, case status updates, and recovery alerts. These messages relate only to the active lost dog case you reported on.

  • Message frequency varies based on case activity

  • Message and data rates may apply

  • Reply STOP at any time to opt out

  • Reply HELP for assistance

  • We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with any third party

Consent to receive SMS messages is never required to submit a sighting report.

How We Use Your Information

Information submitted through Appi is:

  • Shared only with the rescue organization managing the active case

  • Used only for the purpose of locating and recovering the missing dog

  • Never sold, rented, or used for marketing purposes

Data Retention

Sighting reports and contact information are retained for the duration of the recovery case and may be archived afterward for rescue organization records. You may request deletion of your information by contacting us at the email below.

Third-Party Services

Appi uses Twilio to deliver SMS messages and ElevenLabs for optional audio features. These services operate under their own privacy policies.

We do not share your personal information with these providers beyond what is necessary to deliver the service.
